Google Releases Early Version of Android

googleandroid.jpgToday Google released an early version of Android, its open software platform for mobile phones. With the release Google is offering $10 million in prize money to developers who create top software applications for Android in a competition dubbed the ‘Android Developer Challenge.’

It will be interesting to see what local search applications beyond Google Maps will appear on Android in the near future.
