Happy Holidays from the LocalPoint Team

By Ryan Fritzky | December 25, 2007

The Local Internet delivered plenty of action in 2007 for consumers, advertisers, and the companies attempting to transform the space:

Local Internet sales forces multipliedYellowpages.com, Citysearch, and Yodle
Mobile became a reality – the birth of the iPhone
Local video arrived – Superpages.com, Citysearch, and TurnHere
A plethora of new local destinations arrived on the sceneOpen List (expanded), Outside.in, YellowBot, BooRah, Grayboxx and many more
Consolidation began – Citysearch/Insiderpages, Judy’s Book, Marchex/VoiceStar, AT&T/Ingenio, and many more

And with Local Internet ad estimates forecasted to reach $13 billion in 2008, I think we are in for quite the ride next year.

On behalf of the 20 authors covering everything from Local SEO tactics to Local blogging on LocalPoint, we want to wish you a safe and happy holidays!

We look forward to kicking LocalPoint off with a bang in 2008.
