Idearc Acquires LocalSearch.com for $3.3 Million

Need more evidence that folks are starting to ascribe higher values to things local search related? Just this morning, Idearc Media Group (the home to Superpages.com and publisher of the Verizon Yellow Pages) announced (http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/070912/20070912005262.html?.v=1) that it has acquired the URL ‘localsearch.com’ for $3.3 million! It will be interesting to see how and when Idearc develops this URL into a more robust destination and what direction(s) it may take over time.
