My Local Life
By Russell C. Horowitz | September 12, 2007
Every day, I wake up and make decisions about where I am going to eat, which repair people I need for the thing in my house that broke or stopped working, fun places to take my kids, or other activities or services.
These are the basic everyday decisions that people make in one form or another.
It is hard to imagine that people use the Internet to easily share their ideas instantly with others halfway across the globe or within minutes purchase airplane tickets at the cheapest rate — but everyday decisions we face locally, such as finding a qualified doctor or contractor, or choosing a neighborhood cause, are so difficult, with few exceptions. For those of us involved with local search, these are the very exciting problems to solve.
This is why I am so passionate about local. If you have any experiences finding anything locally online, please share them with me. I am interested in hearing.

One of the problems I see with local search is the fact that many small businesses are slow or unresponsive to telephone-based customer inquires. A lot of times consumers will call business after business leaving messages on different answering machines.
I recognize that and have developed a local search solution that changes the way people search for local businesses on the internet or in the phone book.
